The Astor Pavilion – Craftsmanship Defined

It’s arrived! The new Astor Pavilion now graces the Astor Terrace of St. Regis. Designed and crafted by Sperry Fabric Architecture (the company that makes all Sperry Tents), this tent is truly one of a kind. A set of French doors leads into the two-level canopy, which is supported by a natural wood frame and enclosed by sides with cathedral windows.

Designed to act as an extension of the Astor Ballroom for the winter months, this tent is available by request year round. Click to learn more about the amazing, historic event spaces at St. Regis.

The More Tents, the Merrier on Kent Island

We all know the traditional stages of a wedding: ceremony, cocktails, dinner, dancing. But when each stage is held in a different Sperry Tent, all overlooking the ocean on Kent Island, Maryland, guests are truly wowed as they move from one “experience” to the next.

Special thanks to Bellafare event planning for their masterful orchestration of this wedding, which began in a 32 x 70 ceremony tent. The bridal party walked down an aisle of covered walkway and, once the knot was tied, everyone moved over to enjoy cocktails under a 46 round.

The main reception wowed with various lanterns hanging underneath the tent’s canopy. Under foot, guests enjoyed full wood flooring, with plenty of room for dancing. Floral arrangements in vintage milk glass vases by Holly Heider Chapple Flowers continued the event’s antique theme.

New Sperry Pavilion Tent Debuts in D.C.

It’s a piece of art and a symbol of craftsmanship. Designed by sailmakers and woodworkers, the Sperry Pavilion is a truly unique and intricate tent, exemplifying the limitless potential of fabric architecture. Comprised of an ivory sailcloth top, a natural wood frame, and sleek black support brackets, this frame tent provides a clear (pole-free) interior span.

For its first-ever public appearance, the Pavilion participated in a bridal show held by Engaged! magazine at the St. Regis hotel. Illuminated by perimeter string lighting and hanging candle lanterns, the Pavilion was an inspired addition to the anticipated event and a fitting partner to the hotel’s Astor Terrace.

New 66-Foot-Wide Sperry Tents

There’s always room for one more with our new line of 66-foot-wide tents. Each tent, handmade by sailmakers, is supported by two rows of wooden center poles. This new design allows for 20 more feet of width (Sperry Tents have been 46 feet wide for 25 years) and a variety of inventive layout options.
